4-Person Infrared Stereo/Mono Headphones with transmitter
Wireless learning not only helps boost student self-esteem and independence, but creates more flexible classroom environments for individuals or smaller groups of differentiated learners.
This 4-person Infrared Headphone set is designed for use with classroom based computer programs (Mac and Windows compatible) and is ideal for reading and language development.
The headphones have adjustable headbands with ambient noise-reducing earcups to help block out external distractions and keep students on task.
There is no limit to the number of listeners so long as they're within the 15' transmission range with a clear line of sight between the headphone and transmitter.
Additional headphones (HIR-HP1) can be purchased for expanding the group activity without the need for a second transmitter.
“Over the many, many years I've been a librarian, I've used Califone record players, cassette players, and now CD-boom boxes with the Califone label.
The CD player on one of our new Califone boom boxes (model 2395, purchased by my school through FCPS) stopped working, and displayed an error message. (It had been used in a first grade classroom, and wasn't working when the new teacher started teaching this year.)
I called Califone -- and the first good sign was I got a real person, who connected me directly to another real person in Customer Service. I gave Michael the serial number, and he looked it up and told me it was purchased in the spring, 2005. Michael told me if we paid for the postage (since it was purchased last spring), he would give me a return number, and I could send it to their repair partner, Camcor in Burlington, NC. Camcor would either repair it or replace it.
I took the boom box to UPS Monday, paid my $8.03, and today (Friday) we received a brand new replacement CD-boom box. I was so pleased, I called Califone, got a real person who connected me with Patrick, the senior person in Customer Service. I asked Patrick if I could share my positive experience with all of our elementary librarians. (I told him he might receive a flood of requests.) He told me that they want to hear from their customers, and they are here to meet our needs.
Just thought I'd pass along another good experience!” Nancy Davis Annandale Terrace
A: To prevent interference, be sure to have the two USB transmitters face different directions and set up the two groups of Infrared Stereo/Mono Headphone users at a minimum of 20’ apart.
