San Fernando, CA (April, 2008) — A study by the National Research Council indicates that the process of learning to read is lengthy and begins early in life. Additional research reveals that if students are not proficient readers by the end of the third grade, they will have difficulties throughout their school careers, perform poorly in other subjects and are less likely to complete high school.
