Walk Over There To Do That?
6th in a series about PA systems, how they work, and how to operate them.
Arguably one of the best inventions in the world was the remote control. Convenience alone makes this innovation rationale enough for having one. After all, who amongst our generation of armchair athletes actually gets up to change their tv channel any longer?
But has the “remote revolution” caught on in the world of portable audio? Certainly the same arguments are in place to justify having one. Events such as a sports competition, a business or classroom presentation, or simply anyone needing to control the loudness of their voice or music appreciates the freedom that a remote control provides.
So in these desperate times comes the Califone RC-300 infrared remote control. Now users have the same entitlement to move (or not move) about and adjust the volume without returning to their portable PA. The RC-300 has a 25’ line-of-sight range to the PresentationPro™, or PowerPro™ series of PAs, allowing users to step away without needing to step back to change the main volume level on the speakers. When conducting presentations, there’s no need for any more interruptions when putting the RC-300 to use. You wouldn’t even need to turn away from your audience to adjust the sound. Just point the remote directly at the speaker, within range, and adjust accordingly. In addition to the volume up and down functions, there is also a mute button on the infrared remote control.
The RC-300 works with the entire line of portable Califone speakers.
The world of multimedia players has also been rocked by this same innovation. Read about the RC-2400 Classroom Remote Control which is used with the Performer Plus™ by clicking here.
