Expanding Its Learning Centers
Supports Launch by AV Cart Manufacturers Bretford & Copernicus
The use of learning centers, particularly in pre-k through early primary grades, has long been encouraged by teachers, reading coaches, principals, ELL & ESL professionals. Used as both a tool for socialization and for differentiated learning, Califone continues to work with an expanding number of influential manufacturers to launch additional learning centers which better support teachers and inspire creative student-based learning opportunities.
At Infocomm 09, two of the latest learning centers were exhibited for the first time. Bretford announced its launch of its PAL Presenter’s Assistant AV Cart and shown at the Califone booth, was one of its four new Audio Pods, developed with the Canadian firm Copernicus. The offering by Bretford broke industry ground by being the first to include a speaker for audio amplification of multimedia presentations to an entire classroom. Capable of storing the most widely used equipment into a small footprint for easy storage makes the PAL an economical offering for space-challenged classes who also need equipment portability.

The new Audio Pods offer two unique storage solutions coupled with all of the necessary audio equipment for immediate learning center usage. Available in tabletop or rolling cart configurations, the centers come with a choice of the Spirit or Performer Plus Multimedia Player/Recorders, stereo jackbox, and six headphones.
In addition to these powered learning centers, Califone launched earlier this year a series of non-powered six and eight-position computer-based listening centers.
