USB Format Dominates Survey
Califone released the results today of an online survey asking administrators and educators about the most widely used media storage format in their class or school.
Held from January through April 28th, 2010, results from the online poll overwhelmingly indicated a USB Drive was the most commonly used format, garnering 46.2% of the votes.
- 29% of respondents replied they use CDs
- 12.4% reported they use cassettes
- 6.5% use an SD card
- 5.9% of participants said they don’t use any portable storage device as they’re completely wireless

“The rapid shift to storage and player devices with USB connections reflects educator preferences for the easy storage and transfer ability this format offers,” shared the company’s VP Marketing, Tim Ridgway.
