Post ISTE Musings
Califone has been proudly serving teachers for generations, but every once in a while a special meeting occurs that poignantly reminds me how lucky we are to do what we do – and ISTE ’11 was one of those occasions.
The post-conference numbers put out by ISTE are indeed impressive, but after setting up, working and dismantling our booth at the end of the week, the most powerful inspirations were the personal ones. Often times we’re lucky enough to see familiar faces from previous years, but it seems (no surprise either) that the power of social media connects faces with names we interact with online. People you’ve followed and conversed with take on a different, deeper kind of relevance.
As exhibitors, we’re fortunate to have sort of a “natural” meeting place along with the other vendors, but of course meet-ups happened all over.
So to all of our friends, new and old, online or face-to-face, “thanks” again.
