Preview of Infocomm 2012

“AV” as we know it today is a vibrant, exciting industry that intensifies the power of communications. From the boardroom to the classroom and everything in between, audiovisual communications is an integral part of our everyday lives. As one of the longest-standing exhibitors at the annual Infocomm conference, Califone looks forward to the annual event, held this year in Las Vegas, NV.

One of the most prevalent and recurring themes at InfoComm is education, with 96% of AV professionals having taken InfoComm International training. In addition to what’s learned in class, picking up what’s new from exhibitors is another proven way to stay on top of the trade. Califone will be demonstrating practical solutions for AV pros who serve business & industry, Houses of Worship, and educators who attend the show.

The PA419 boasts the first Apple-approved docking station for an iPod / iPhoneWireless PA systems have emerged as a favorite because of their flexibility and system portability. Making its debut at Infocomm will be the first Apple-approved docking station built into a wireless PA – the Califone PA419. With two wireless mic receivers for multiple wireless presenters, the 30W PA419 enables streaming music from the internet (on Pandora forinstance) for broadcasting to an audience through a connected iPhone.

The ability to link systems for greater coverage enables separate PAs to be used independently for smaller functions or merged for larger events. Shown at #Infocomm12 will be the PowerProSD PA (PA919SD), the first portable PA system to broadcast to an unlimited number of wireless powered support speakers (including the PA419) within its 300′ range.

In addition to PA systems, the advent of mobile learning is reshaping learning inside and out of classrooms. Offering a product line preview which will be introduced at the annual ISTE conference later in June, the To Go headsets are the first educationally-specific headsets to connect with mobile devices, including iOS and Android-based smartphones and tablets.

In addition to other hardware such as the first washable headphones, Califone will continue with its industry-leading use of QR codes to provide visitors with additional product information and reduce the amount of printed materials. The company held the first QR contest at Infocomm in 2011.
