2015 Readers’ Choice Awards recognized range of Califone audio gear
Califone International LLC, a leader in the design, development and manufacturing of audiovisual (AV) and supplemental curriculum products for use in education, received T.H.E Journal and Campus Technology Readers’ Choice Awards. Education professionals selected Califone in the classroom audio and sound enhancement category for its AV products used in education.
“Receiving these awards is a testament to the effectiveness of Califone products in the classroom and other educational settings,” said vice president of marketing for Califone, Tim Ridgway. “Because the awards were chosen by educators, it illustrates the success they have had in implementing our AV technology to improve learning.”
Both Readers’ Choice Award programs recognized Califone for its broad array of audio gear—from portable announcement systems and amplifiers to headsets and audio systems—that has served classrooms for nearly 70 years.
“78% of teachers using digital games in the classroom saw increased student performance in curriculum-focused topics as a result of gameplay“
The T.H.E Journal 2015 Readers’ Choice Awards is the publication’s first-ever pre-K-12 award program and received a large response from education professionals. The program selected winners for more than 30 categories of learning tools and solutions. The majority of 487 respondents were teachers who work in public education.
The Campus Technology 2015 Readers’ Choice Awards also made its debut, serving as a “gear of the year” guide for postsecondary technology. The majority of voters serve colleges across the country, followed closely by IT professionals working in education. The respondents voted in any of the 29 categories to endorse their favorite technology products of the year.
“The winners of our Readers’ Choice Awards represent the best of a very vibrant, dynamic niche of the technology sector, one that has grown tremendously over the last few decades,” said David Nagel, 1105 Public Sector Media Group’s editorial director of education. “What was once science fiction — or even fantasy — when we first began covering education technology in the 1970s and 1980s is now commonplace in America’s schools. We’re proud to honor those whose work — both commercial and open source — has contributed so much to education.”
