When school technology directors and administrators are thinking about this year’s newly mandated audio requirements for language arts assessment, their minds immediately turn to headphones and headsets. And they should. However, there’s another audio option that many may not be aware of, one that involves a much smaller investment: earbuds, which come in a variety of models that sport diverse features to fit the needs of any classroom.

Latest audio equipment features multipurpose design and affordability ideal for assessments
Califone International LLC, the premier manufacturer of quality audio technology and sound presentation solutions for schools, industry, institutions and professional use, announces three new earbud designs to fit the needs of any classroom. The E1, E3T and E3USB earbuds contain unique components to support Common Core preparation and testing.
The E3T and E3USB are earbuds with inline microphones on the cords. Supporting speech intelligibility and the development of speaking and listening skills defined in the English language arts Common Core section, the earbuds feature inline volume control and single button operation with iOS, Windows and Android devices. Specifically, the E3T includes a single 3.5 mm “T-style plug” to connect with smartphones and tablets, while the E3USB has a USB plug to meet PARCC & Smarter Balanced recommendations. The E3T and E3USB earbuds each include an extra pair of smaller earpads for younger students. Along with the E3 model announced earlier, the E3 series are the first earbud models to offer a one-year warranty for use in schools.
Designed for single use, the E1 earbud is the most affordable option of the three new offerings.
“Califone strives to deliver products that create a positive experience for teachers using audio equipment in the classroom,” said Tim Ridgway, vice president for Califone. “Since the upcoming spring assessments require headphones and headsets, it’s more important than ever to have product choices that support every classroom preparing for Common Core testing.”
The new earbuds will be introduced at the ’15 FETC and TCEA shows.

Helps Districts Prepare for Common Core Testing Deadlines
The clock is ticking, and school districts are running out of time to acquire the audio equipment required to administer Common Core assessments this spring. Many districts have not ordered the tech resources needed for the new tests, and the longer they procrastinate, the more difficult it will be to procure the equipment. To make the process less stressful for district administrators, Califone International LLC is going the extra mile. The premier manufacturer of quality audio technology for schools introduces a new headphone, earbud and headset program guaranteeing in-time shipment of the essential audio equipment that districts need for spring assessments.
