Computer-Based Language Learning Increasing

Survey documents increasing use of classroom computers for language learning and reading activities.

Califone released the results today of a month-long survey whereby more than two thirds of all respondents said they use classroom computers for audio-assisted language learning or reading activities more than 30% of the time. 28% of all participants said they use their computers for these activities more than 50% of the time and 8% of all participants use them more than 70% of the time for audio-assisted language learning or reading activities. Offering Multiple Solutions for Classroom Hearing Protection

Hearing loss among children and young adults is rising as The Children’s Hearing Institute reported and The New York Times shared in the article All That Noise Is Damaging Children’s Hearing. There are a few causes for hearing loss, but based on the report from The Children’s Hearing Institute, one-third of the hearing loss is caused by noise. Hearing loss is no longer just an issue among the elderly people, American Academy of Audiology reported that as many as one child in eight has noise-induced hearing loss. (more…)
