A: All Califone multimedia player/recorders have a “repeat” function that allows you to either repeat a single track or the entire CD. Press the ‘repeat’ button twice to have the CD start over on its own and “repeat all” will appear on the display. Read about other boombox controls.
A: The term “wow and flutter” applies only to cassette player/recorders and to the cassette function of boomboxes. “Wow” refers to the changes in frequency caused by irregular tape motion during recording or playback. “Flutter” is the rapid variation of signal parameters, such as amplitude, phase, and frequency.
A: Yes. Since the Infrared Music Maker™ Plus media player is infrared, an unlimited number of students wearing the 34B-IR infrared headphones can gather around the player as long as they are within the 15’ line of sight transmission range. Learn about the benefits IR learning centers.
A: The Performer Plus™ and all of the media players in the Music Maker™ series can be connected to external speakers via two ¼” output jacks located on the back of each player. When external speakers are connected, audio will not play through the media player.
A: Yes. The Music Maker Series multimedia players (2385-03, 2395AV-02, 2395IR) and our Performer Plus™ all come with the cord wraps on the back of the units.
A: To keep the programmed radio stations in the media players, do not turn off the power at the end of the day; just leave the machine on the “stand by” position.
A: A replacement CD module which consists of the entire CD player drive is available for the infrared Music Maker Plus™ media player and all boomboxes excluding the Spirit™. Please contact our Customer Service Dept to inquire more about this CD module.
A: The 34B-IR headphones are wireless, infrared headphones can only be used with a media player that has a built-in infrared transmitter such as the 2395IR boombox and the 3432IR cassette player/recorder. For computer use, the 35IR-B wireless headphones can be used in conjunction with the included USB transmitter. A: The line-of-sight transmission range from the Infrared Music Maker to the Infrared Headphones is 15’. This gives students freedom of movement and provides teachers the flexibility in the number of students that can participate in the wireless center activities. To obtain optimal reception, we recommend that all participating students be in a semi-circle or a line in front of the transmitter within 15’ range. A: The 34B-IR infrared headphones are designed to work with either the 3432IR infrared cassette player/recorder or the 2395IR infrared media player. However the 35IR-USB will work with any computer. It has a transmitter that plugs into the USB port and will send out wireless audio to its headphone. It is available by itself, or as a listening center with four headphones and a single transmitter.
A: Yes. The 34B-IR wireless headphone can be used along with either monaural wired headphones for the 3432IR cassette player or with stereo wired headphones for the 2395IR media player.
A: On any dual-cassette media player, simultaneously press down on both 'RECORD' and 'PLAY' on the first cassette deck that you will record to and then press 'PLAY' on the second cassette deck which you will record from.
A: There is a speaker balance adjustment on the Performer Plus and most other Califone multimedia players. It should be normally set for the speaker balance to be in the center and not too far to the left or right.
A: The 2455AV uses the RC-2400 remote control. The 2385AV, 2395AV and 2395IR boomboxes use the RC-2300 remote control. There is no remote control available for the Spirit 1776 boombox.
