“Our 2455AV media player allows me to begin every P.E. class with music and some sort of activity (i.e. bean bags, rhythm sticks, rhythmic ribbons, aerobic dance, movement, etc.) for our Special Ed P.E. students.” Linda Guild Adapted PE Specialist Humboldt Co. Office of Ed Eureka, CA
A: Yes. The Music Maker Series multimedia players (2385-03, 2395AV-02, 2395IR) and our Performer Plus™ all come with the cord wraps on the back of the units.
A: To keep the programmed radio stations in the media players, do not turn off the power at the end of the day; just leave the machine on the “stand by” position.
A: The remote control that is included with every 2455AV-02 media player is model RC-2400. You may purchase a new remote control by contacting our Sales Dept.
A: A replacement piece for the CD door on the 2455AV is no longer available as the current model does not have the same type of door. Your best option is to replace the CD module, which consists of the entire CD player drive or component along with a CD door that has a hinge in place to allow it to lift up and down. Please contact our Customer Service Dept. to inquire more about this CD module.
A: The 2455AV media player has variable speed controls for both CD and cassette. On the top part of the player you will find there is a ‘Tape Pitch’ control knob that can be moved up & down to increase or decrease the speed. For the CD, there are 3 buttons for the variable speed: Speed Normal, Speed – to decrease and Speed + to increase.
A: For the 2455AV and all boomboxes excluding the Spirit™, Califone sells a CD module which consists of the entire CD player drive or component that includes the laser head. Please contact our Customer Service Dept to inquire more about this CD module.
A: Check to make sure that the button marked for “dubbing” on the 2455AV media player is set to ‘NORMAL SPEED’. If this does not activate the feature, please contact our Tech Support Dept.
A: The Voice Over function allows you to communicate with the audience through a microphone while the music continues to play. Two separate volume controls are available for you to adjust the microphone volume and the volume of the music. Teachers can use this feature to tape record desired curriculum/lessons that includes music in the background.
A: Yes. Califone Performer Plus™ and Music Maker™ USB are MP3 compatible. With a standard cable from an electronic retail shop, you can connect your MP3 player to line-in input in these two media players and play hours of music for indoor or outdoor events.
A: Califone recommends the 2455AV Performer Plus™ as an alternative to the 2395AV Music Maker™ as it is also a dual cassette/CD media player, has 14 watts RMS and 6 built-in headphone jacks. Depending on your use, the 2385-03 may be an upgrade since it plays MP3 files (on CDs).
A: On any dual-cassette media player, simultaneously press down on both 'RECORD' and 'PLAY' on the first cassette deck that you will record to and then press 'PLAY' on the second cassette deck which you will record from.
A: The Performer Plus® has a tape pitch function to change the playback speed +- 15%. This is considered extremely useful by linguists and reading teachers for language learning. Make sure the dial pointed in the center indicating the tape speed is 'normal'.
A: There is a speaker balance adjustment on the Performer Plus and most other Califone multimedia players. It should be normally set for the speaker balance to be in the center and not too far to the left or right.
A: The 2455AV uses the RC-2400 remote control. The 2385AV, 2395AV and 2395IR boomboxes use the RC-2300 remote control. There is no remote control available for the Spirit 1776 boombox. The RC-2300 and RC-2400 may be purchased individually. Please contact our Customer Service Dept. for more information.
A: The Califone 2455AV Performer Plus™ has variable speed playback for both the cassette and CD players. Also, the Califone 2396 Music Maker USB has variable speed playback for MP3 only. The Califone PowerPro™ PA-916 portable PA also has variable speed playback for the cassette player only.
