The Deluxe Series of stereo and monaural headphones are longstanding teacher favorites (and student-tested) for literacy and language learning activities, computer-related classes classrooms and libraries.
Califone understands equipment that's used repeatedly in classroom learning needs to be made to a higher standard. Safety features begin with slotted earcup baffles on all 2924 headphones protect the internal speakers against accidental perforation by sharp objects such as an unfolded paper clip or scissors. Noise-reducing earcups help hearing safety by resting around students' ears (not in them) to provide maximum protection against external noise, minimizing distractions so students won't increase the volume to hear the content. The rugged ABS plastic construction won't shatter (unlike materials used in consumer electronics items) into potentially dangerous shards and withstand the rigors of daily use.
The entry point of the 6' straight cord into the earcup is reinforced against accidental pull-out and is permanently attached on the stereo model. For the monaural version, choose between coiled and straight cords.
The 3.5mm stereo plug on the stereo models enable students to listen to smartphones, tablets, computers and other audio sources and comes with a ¼” screw-on adapter. The 1/4” plug on the monaural models connects the headphones with cassette player/recorders. Both the 3.5mm and ¼” plugs can be used with jackboxes for group listening center activities.
The stereo models offer volume control on the earcup while most monaural versions do not (the mono 2924AVPV does).
Choose between beige or blueberry colors and gray is also available for monaural.
The headphones are available as a classroom pack of twelve units with storage case (mono 2924AVP-12 or stereo 2924AVPS-12), a classroom pack ten monaural headphones without a storage case (2924AVP-10L).
Optional disposable hypoallergenic cloth earpad covers (2924EC) are available for headphones in high use settings. Students and teachers tell us the covers help make the headphones feel even cooler, are comfortable to wear and help keep the earpads clean.
For heavy-use situations in libraries, language labs and speech pathology applications
ABS plastic earcups and adjustable headband for durability
Replaceable foam-filled ear cushions
Replaceable clip-in 6’ straight cord with 1/4” plug
Around-ear ambient noise-reducing earcups deliver maximum protection against exterior sounds (without added electronic circuitry and expense). This reduces the need to increase the volume (protecting the ears) and helps keep students on task.
“The 2924AVPS-BL headphones are necessary to use most of the computer application programs for primary grades.” Christie Jones PK-6 Computer Instructor Vienna School/Wood County Vienna, WV

A: When the adjustable headband of the 2924series, HPK series, and 3066 series is fully extended, the length from the headband to the center of the earcups is 6.5 inches. The adjustable headband makes these headphones and headbands suitable for adults too.
A: Califone headphones are available in silver, blueberry or beige, depending upon what headphone you need. The 3060-series are available in all 3 colors. The 2924AVP, 2924AVPS and 3064AV headset come in both beige and blueberry. However, the color-themed Listening First™ headphones come in blue, red and yellow. The 3068AV is only available in black. The SA-740 and NC500TFC in silver.

A: There is not a hard carry case that can accommodate the Performer Plus™ multimedia player and the five 2924AVPS headphones that are included in the 2455PLC learning center. However, the 2006 is a soft storage bag that can fit the learning center along with any additional products and accessories.

A: Yes. There are two monaural headphones that do not have permanently-attached cords. The 2924AV comes with a 6’ replaceable straight cord and the 2924AVC has a 6’ replaceable clip-in coiled cord. The replaceable cords can be purchased separately. Click here to learn more about the different types of headphone cords.
A: The 1214AVPY, though now discontinued, is a monaural jackbox that is best used with monaural headphones in the 2924AV series or the 3068AV switchable mono/stereo headphone as well as with cassette player/recorders. Monaural products are not compatible with stereo applications as the sound will only come out of one ear. A stereo jackbox or mini stereo jackbox is compatible with a CD player and other media players as it too is a stereo unit and provides stereo surround sound. The 2924AVPS stereo headphones can be used with this jackbox to ensure that audio comes out of both earcups. Click here to find out the differences between stereo and monaural audio equipment.
A: The Spirit 1776 is a stereo media player and monaural headphones such as the 2985PG, the 2924AVG or any others in the 2924AV series, excluding the stereo 2924AVPS, are not compatible because the sound will only come out of one earcup instead of coming out in stereo surround sound. Monaural headphones have a ¼” plug that will not fit into the 3.5mm headphone jack found on all stereo boomboxes. All Califone® stereo headphones have 3.5’’ stereo plugs. Monaural headphones are best used with cassette player/recorders. Read more about Stereo vs Mono.
A: The adapters that come with the 2924AVPS headphones are to go from a 3.5mm plug to a ¼” plug. You can contact our Customer Service Dept. to order these adapters.
A: The difference between a headphone and a headset is a headphone is used only for listening and a headset can be used for listening and capturing audio responses (used by many language/reading programs). Put another way, a headset is a headphone with a microphone attached to it.
