Around-ear ambient noise-reducing earcups deliver maximum protection against exterior sounds (without added electronic circuitry and expense). This reduces the need to increase the volume (protecting the ears) and helps keep students on task.
“Using the 2924AV headphones, students are able to visit certain websites that have sound and listen and progress at their own pace without disturbing a neighboring student.” Rita Kilgore Computer Technology Middle School Teacher Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools Kernersville, NC
A: Yes. There are two monaural headphones that do not have permanently-attached cords. The 2924AV comes with a 6’ replaceable straight cord and the 2924AVC has a 6’ replaceable clip-in coiled cord. The replaceable cords can be purchased separately. Click here to learn more about the different types of headphone cords.
A: The Spirit 1776 is a stereo media player and monaural headphones such as the 2985PG, the 2924AVG or any others in the 2924AV series, excluding the stereo 2924AVPS, are not compatible because the sound will only come out of one earcup instead of coming out in stereo surround sound. Monaural headphones have a ¼” plug that will not fit into the 3.5mm headphone jack found on all stereo boomboxes. All Califone® stereo headphones have 3.5’’ stereo plugs. Monaural headphones are best used with cassette player/recorders. Read more about Stereo vs Mono.
A: The difference between a headphone and a headset is a headphone is used only for listening and a headset can be used for listening and capturing audio responses (used by many language/reading programs). Put another way, a headset is a headphone with a microphone attached to it.
