“The 3060AV headphones help our K-5 children to concentrate on the task on the screen by filtering out distractive noises. It also makes the classroom quieter.” Adelicia Moses Principal PS 158 Warwick PS 158 Warwick
A: The 1214AVPY, though now discontinued, is a monaural jackbox that is best used with monaural headphones in the 2924AV series or the 3068AV switchable mono/stereo headphone as well as with cassette player/recorders. Monaural products are not compatible with stereo applications as the sound will only come out of one ear. A stereo jackbox or mini stereo jackbox is compatible with a CD player and other media players as it too is a stereo unit and provides stereo surround sound. The 2924AVPS stereo headphones can be used with this jackbox to ensure that audio comes out of both earcups. Click here to find out the differences between stereo and monaural audio equipment.
A: The 3060AV does not come with replacement earpads (EP-306X) but they can be purchased separately. Please contact our Customer Service Dept for more information. Califone also offers disposable earcup covers for the 3060AV.
A: It is possible to use other headphones, but only the sensitivity of the 3060AV has been calibrated to work with the Sentinel Technology restricting the volume playback to 85dB. So another headphone could be used if the 85dB volume restriction isn't as important to your application.
A: The difference between a headphone and a headset is a headphone is used only for listening and a headset can be used for listening and capturing audio responses (used by many language/reading programs). Put another way, a headset is a headphone with a microphone attached to it.
