The 4100 is the first school-focused headset to feature a USB plug and also the first to offer single To Go plug compatibility with MAC and Windows-based computers as well as iOS and Android-based smartphones and tablets.
With either its USB plug or single 3.5mm stereo To Go™ plug, students use the 4100 to create digital podcasts or recordings of their progress. This activity specifically supports the Common Core's Speaking & Listening standards. A: No. All of the USB headphones and headsets that Califone makes integrate the USB plug into the cord, not as an attachment. They are also "plug and play" compatible so there's no tedious pre-loading of software necessary.
A: There are no ¼” plug adapters available for Califone headsets. There are stereo headsets for use with computers that only come with either a 3.5mm plug or a USB plug. The 3064 and 3066 are available in both and the 4100 only as a USB headset. The 2964AV is a monaural headset for use with the Califone CardMaster™ that has two ¼” plugs. A: The headphone packs are designed to include a specific case that can accommodate the quantity of headphones and headsets that are packed. Please contact our Customer Service Dept for more information.
A: The USB Headsets feature three LED lights on the In-line control as easy-to-see indicators for the users. The bigger LED light at the base of the In-line control indicates headset power on/off; the top small LED light signifies microphone on/off; and the small LED light in the middle flashes when data is transmitting.
A: Califone offers classroom headphone packs only with a carrying case for added convenience and storage purposes. With the cases, these headphone packs can be transported from one classroom to the next with ease and help avoid down time.
A: Replacement windscreens for the boom microphone on the 4100-USB headsets are available. Please contact our Tech Support Dept for assistance. These headsets are also available in a 10-pack to avoid down time.
A: Yes. All of the Califone USB Headsets (3064-USB, 3066-USB, and 4100-USB) feature the in-line microphone on/off switch as well as the volume and mute controls.
A: The four buttons on the In-line control of our USB Headsets (3064-USB, 3066-USB, and 4100-USB) are for the following functions: microphone on/off switch, volume controls up and down, and mute.
A: You don’t need to load any drivers in your system to connect the 4100-USB to your Mac. All you need to do is to configure your settings for the mic to get recognized. Open “system preferences”, select “sound” and under the Audio section make sure that the driver C-media USB is selected for Input. Also double check that the headphone is recognized by selecting C-media USB for output.
A: The difference between a headphone and a headset is a headphone is used only for listening and a headset can be used for listening and capturing audio responses (used by many language/reading programs). Put another way, a headset is a headphone with a microphone attached to it.
