It offers maximum flexibility for use in library and classroom listening centers, music and movement, story-time activities and playback of recorded books. A: Yes. The Deluxe Series Cassette Players/Recorders (5262AV & 5272AV) feature tone control. This feature is also found in our Infrared Cassette Player/Recorder (3432IR).
A: The 4805AV remote microphone is compatible with all Califone cassette player/recorders as well as multimedia players. Simply connect it to a player’s remote/mic jacks, turn the microphone ON, press PAUSE, then RECORD on the player to prepare for voice recordings. A: When installing batteries inside your boombox or cassette player, place them on top of the nylon ribbon found inside to help “pop” the old batteries out when they need to be replaced.
A: When a headphone is plugged into the “HP/EXT SPKR” headphone jack, the audio is heard through only the attached headphone so it doesn’t distract the rest of the class. When a headphone is plugged into any other “non-labeled” headphone jacks, the audio can be heard both through the headphone and the built-in speaker on the cassette player. The HP/EXT SPKR headphone jack feature is found on the Deluxe Cassette Recorders/Players (5262AV & 5272AV), Budget Cassette Recorder/Player (1300AV), and Translucent Cassette Recorder/Player (1500AVBL).
A: The term “wow and flutter” applies only to cassette player/recorders and to the cassette function of boomboxes. “Wow” refers to the changes in frequency caused by irregular tape motion during recording or playback. “Flutter” is the rapid variation of signal parameters, such as amplitude, phase, and frequency.
A: The main difference between the 5262AV and the 5272AV is that the 5262AV is 5 watts versus the 5272AV that has 10 watts of power. Both have seven built-in headphone jacks.
A: The head and rollers may be dirty and require cleaning. Use a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol or purchase a tape cleaner from an electronics store. If you need further information, please contact our Tech Support Dept.
