This 4-person wireless listening system is ideal for language learning, literacy groups, ELL / ELD applications, story-time, music & audio book listening, other classroom and library uses.
With a 100' range from the transmitter to the headphones, the system creates flexible learning environments where the students do not need to be next to the audio source.
There are three different color-coded frequencies with matching hardware to choose from, with an unlimited number of headphones that can be added later for larger sized groups. Since each transmitter and its matching color-coded headphones operate on their own independent frequency, three different groups can enjoy wireless learning in the same room without any interference.
The transmitter has a 1/4” plug to attach a microphone. When connected, this allows announcements to be made which are heard only by students who are wearing headphones that are receiving from that transmitter.
Each system includes four wireless headphones, a matching color-coded VHF transmitter that plugs into any audio source (MP3 player, computer, multimedia player, VCR / CD / DVD player, or television monitor), all necessary charging cables, and an AC adapter.

A: Different frequencies exist so that there can be more than one group listening to its own content (wirelessly) at the same time. Each group needs to use a different colored set of matching transmitter and headphones from the other groups.
For instance, if there are three reading levels within an English class, each one would use a different set of materials (textbooks) tailored for that group's particular needs. So one group might have the "fundamental" materials broadcast using the yellow hardware (transmitter and headphones), while the "average" and "accelerated" groups might use the blue and green hardware respectively. Each group hears only the audio that's transmitted in that color hardware's frequency.
A: Yes. Each of the VHF/FM Transmitter in the CLS7XXT series has a ¼” microphone jack enabling the instructor to easily provide feedback or comments to listeners through the headphones. This is also a great feature for administrating translations in a lecture or speech.
A: Regardless of which frequency you are using, all of the transmitters in this series can be linked to any type of audio source (personal CD player, other type of media player or computer) with the patch cord (1/4" to 3.5mm). It is included with the purchase of any 4-person CLS wireless system, and is what’s needed to connect the CLS transmitter to an audio source.
A: Each CLS7XX Wireless Headphone takes one CLS-BAT battery. The battery is included with the purchase of a new headphone and replacement batteries can be purchased separately and exclusively from Califone.
A: Yes. Califone Wireless Listening Systems CLS7XX-4 are compatible with any TVs that features Audio Out or Headphone Output. Simply connect the transmitter included in our Wireless Listening Systems to Audio Out or Headphone Output to provide wireless transmission. Our Wireless Listening Systems are available in three different frequencies which enables the teachers to provide true differentiated instruction – while one group of students are watching a program on TV, two other groups of students can be working on different curriculum programs.
A: The model number for the charging lead is CLS-CH8; the model number for the AC adapter is CLS700-AC; and the model number for the headphone rack is 2003.
A: We have discontinued both the red (747) CLS headphones and CLS747T transmitter. The available CLS colors are the yellow (721), blue (725) and green (729) frequencies.
A: Simply connect the CLS700AC charging adapter into the CLS-CH8 charging lead and then connect the CLS headphones to the charging lead using the cords it comes with. Be sure to turn OFF your CLS headphone prior to recharging. It is best to charge at all times when not in use to ensure battery life. The charge time is approximately 8 hours or you may charge them overnight.
