Introducing the most technically advanced and durable headsets ever manufactured by Califone. The Titanium™ series of Mac & PC compatible stereo headsets will help optimize differentiated learning experiences with breakthroughs in safety, performance, comfort and durability.
Headsets used in classrooms or libraries are constantly handled and worn throughout the school week. To keep them in top condition and clean, the Titanium headsets are the first headsets that can be washed in soap and water once their cord has been detached (the HPK-1530 and HPK-1030 models are not washable)! Once cleaned and thoroughly dried, simply reconnect the replaceable cord and the Titanium headset is ready for reuse.
To help students learn what a safe volume level is when using a headset, the Titanium headsets are also the first to restrict the volume playback level to the ASHA and OSHA-recommended maximum of 85 decibels. There is a switch on the earcup to disarm this feature for students with special needs on the HPK-1030 / HPK-1530 and on the cord of the HPK-1010 / HPK-1510. The HPK-1550 / HPK-1050 models have inline volume control, but not the 85dB restriction. There is even a rechargeable model (HPK-1030).
In addition to filtering the audio volume, Titanium headsets help students focus more effectively on the task at hand by blocking the highest amount of ambient (external) noise of any passive headset Califone has ever offered. This also reduces the need to increase the volume and helps with their hearing safety.
School budgets can't afford equipment that won't last the entire year or cause lost learning time, and that's why Titanium headsets are built using more rugged ABS plastic (even its cord is thicker than previous models). But longer lasting doesn't automatically mean student comfort, which is why the ear cushions have also been upgraded. They feel even softer without the accumulated clammy feeling which can come after prolonged use.
Another first on the Titanium headsets is the optional Guaranteed for Life cords. Students have been known to chew on or accidentally roll over cords with casters on moveable chairs. Califone will replace any cord on the HPK-1550 / HPK-1510 / HPK-1530 models for the life of the cord if damage should occur from regular school use.
Since schools, districts and students in BYOD environments utilize different devices when listening with headphones, the Titanium headsets are available with either a USB plug (HPK-1010 / HPK-1510), dual 3.5mm plugs (HPK-1550 / HPK-1050 / HPK-1530 / HPK-1030) and even a single 3.5mm To Go plug (HPK-1010T) to connect with iOS and Android-based smartphones, tablets and computers.
A bundled pack of four HPK-1030 headsets is also available (charger included).

“We use the Deluxe Multimedia Stereo headsets in our middle school Intensive Reading classes which are part of the READ 180 program. Since the program requires headphones with mics, we need a product that captures student responses with sufficient audio quality and can stand up to the day-in an day-out uses.” Karen Maguire Reading Coach Oakridge Middle School Naples, FL
A: Like some of our other models, these too come with replaceable cords. Any part number beginning with HPC-xxxx, refers to just the cord by itself. Similarly any headphone or headset body in this series has a part number that begins with HPE-xxxx. Either could be ordered by itself as a replacement, but to buy a "complete" Titanium headphone or headset use a part number HPK-xxxx (this package includes the cord AND the headphone body.)
A: No. Each of the Titanium™ headsets (HPK1010, HPK1030, and HPK1050) have an in-line control that has an on/off/mute button for the boom microphone and a volume control for the headphone earcups.
A: No. All of the USB headphones and headsets that Califone makes integrate the USB plug into the cord, not as an attachment. They are also "plug and play" compatible so there's no tedious pre-loading of software necessary.
A: When the adjustable headband of the 2924series, HPK series, and 3066 series is fully extended, the length from the headband to the center of the earcups is 6.5 inches. The adjustable headband makes these headphones and headbands suitable for adults too.
A: 1) A small flat blade from a screwdriver works best (small enough to fit inside the hole on the earcup) 2) It helps to push the cord in just a little bit at first so the latching part of the plastic can become unlatched and easier to pull out 3) The cord needs to be pulled straight out – not at an angle 4) You need to simultaneously push straight down into the “hole” on the cup of the headphone or headset while gently pulling the cord out
