A: The 2964AV monaural headset has two ¼” plugs that cannot connect to the READER card reader’s 3.5mm headphone jack. A stereo headphone with a 3.5mm plug is compatible with this card reader. The 2964AV is best used with the CardMaster™. Learn about the differences between headset and headphone plugs.
A: Yes. Blank cards that are used for recording custom cards can be played from both the CardMaster and Reader card readers. However, they must be recorded on the teacher-track on the CardMaster in order for the Reader to be able to play it.
A: The READER features a 3.5mm headphone jack, it is compatible with any stereo headphones that have a 3.5mm plug. Since 3068AV is a Stereo/Mono headphone that features a 3.5mm plug with a ¼” adapter, you can use the 3068AV with the READER, just be sure to switch the Stereo/Mono switch on the earcup to “stereo”.
A: The READER is a play-only stereo card reader that can be used with a stereo headphone while the CardMaster™ card reader is monaural since it has a dedicated2964AV monaural headset for recordings.
A: Yes. The READER is a “play” only card reader that will play custom created 1100BC magnetic cards that have been recorded on in addition to previously recorded card programs.
A: In order for custom-recorded cards to play on the READER card reader, you need to make sure you recorded the cards on the CardMaster™ card reader using the “teacher track” and not the “student track”. Please contact our Tech Support Dept for assistance if problems persist.
A: No. The READER will play the recordings on the teacher track only, whether the magnetic cards were purchased prerecorded or made from the blank cards. This allows the students to concentrate and focus on learning the correct pronunciations through teacher’s recordings.
A: We recommend a stereo jackbox with a 3.5mm plug to be used with the READER. Califone currently offers the 1114 series and the 1210AVPS stereo jackboxes, all could be used with the READER.
A: The READER features a 3.5mm headphone jack. A jackbox can also be connected through this headphone jack for group listening without distributing others. It’s practical for differentiated instruction.
