“I have a severely developmentally delayed 10-year-old son whose ability to speak and communicate is very limited. He has been working with your card reader for the past year and has made tremendous progress in many areas. It has opened up his world and we have even discovered through using the reader that he is able to sight-read simple words. The possibilities that this has given him are just too much to imagine. His thirst to learn is insatiable, and if it were up to him, he would do nothing but work with the card reader all day. Thank you very much!!” Linda W. Monroeville, PA
A: In order for custom-recorded cards to play on the READER card reader, you need to make sure you recorded the cards on the CardMaster™ card reader using the “teacher track” and not the “student track”. Please contact our Tech Support Dept for assistance if problems persist.

The 2964AV is best used with the CardMaster™. Learn about the differences between headset and headphone plugs.
A: Yes. The READER is a “play” only card reader that will play custom created 1100BC magnetic cards that have been recorded on in addition to previously recorded card programs.
A: No. The READER will play the recordings on the teacher track only, whether the magnetic cards were purchased prerecorded or made from the blank cards. This allows the students to concentrate and focus on learning the correct pronunciations through teacher’s recordings.
A: We recommend a stereo jackbox with a 3.5mm plug to be used with the READER. Califone currently offers the 1114 series and the 1210AVPS stereo jackboxes, all could be used with the READER.
A: The READER features a 3.5mm headphone jack. A jackbox can also be connected through this headphone jack for group listening without distributing others. It’s practical for differentiated instruction.
