2455AV-02
“I sought out the Performer Plus for its variable speed playback feature for the CD and cassette, which we use for dance classes. I also use it as a PA system because it has enough power to be clearly heard during gym classes. The external microphone jack is a good feature that you don’t find on many other boom boxes.”

Carol Wegner
Physical Education Coordinator
Willmar Public School Dist 347
Willmar, MN

2455AV-02
“The portability and power of the Performer Plus allows me to lead almost any sized group. When leading dances or teaching groups of differing abilities, the Voice Over and Variable Spped playback features are why it really stands apart for me. For energetic groups, I'll race up the music's speed +15% or when I lead "sit-down dancing" sessions in retirement homes, the pace is slowed -15%. The remote control gives me added flexibility to move about.”

Bob Howell
former 33-year school Principal

2455AV-02
“We purchased the Performer Plus for the variable speed as we use it to record our skits for our children's puppet ministry. We're able to adjust the speed of our voices for the many different characters we play.”

2455AV-02
“Oh my goodness! It's THE BEST product for teachers! I teach the Music Builder course, and with the 2455AV-02 I use the built-in microphone, I love the balance control, and let me tell you: Your 2455AV-02 is the only machine that could really split two tracks perfectly so I have music and vocal separately. Your product (2455AV-02) is so very valuable to me!

The RANDOM button is my students' favorite. I am currently training my students to recognize different sound from different instruments, and we use a software game which we wouldn't be able to play at all without the RANDOM button on our 2455AV-02. Your 2455AV-02 makes learning fun for my students.”

Renee Paul
Teacher
Grandview Public School
Bethany, ON Canada

2455AV-02
“The Performer Plus helps my dance students gain confidence. When testing their responses and smooth transitions for specific dance moves/steps, I use the variable speed feature to play the music at a faster speed. They know they are doing a wonderful job when I don't need to slow down the music and you can see their increased confidence in themselves and they start enjoying their own performance.

The best thing in my opinion about the 2455AV-02 is having the pitch control for the CD and cassette in one unit! You don't find this combination in other brands. The 2455AV-02 is the right aide for me. I no longer need to have several different equipments in my classroom.”

“Individual Storage Headphones are an excellent addition to any classroom. The adjustable stereo headphones are about half the cost of other models and come in moisture-resistant plastic bags that can be personalized with students' or family members' names. School personnel these days are concerned about the unhealthful aspects (lice, for example) of sharing headphones so the price and the bag feature are particulary attractive.”

Computer Peripherals

KIDSKEY
“(Our district has a strict technology standard that each student must master touch type by the eighth grade.) We thought that the special coloring and coding on the Kids Keyboard would be very helpful to our kindergarten through second graders. And, we knew by combining the keyboard with our other computer accessories, we could provide our younger students with a safe, computer-based learning center. The students notice the change in how much easier it is for them to type properly. The teachers are happy that their students will not be practicing their 'hunting and pecking' skills moving forward.”

The important part is that students are not noticing the technology, since it works seamlessly with the other parts of the learning center, allowing the students to concentrate on their lessons.”

Learning Centers
“Over the many, many years I've been a librarian, I've used Califone record players, cassette players, and now CD-boom boxes with the Califone label.

The CD player on one of our new Califone boom boxes (model 2395, purchased by my school through FCPS) stopped working, and displayed an error message. (It had been used in a first grade classroom, and wasn't working when the new teacher started teaching this year.)

I called Califone -- and the first good sign was I got a real person, who connected me directly to another real person in Customer Service. I gave Michael the serial number, and he looked it up and told me it was purchased in the spring, 2005. Michael told me if we paid for the postage (since it was purchased last spring), he would give me a return number, and I could send it to their repair partner, Camcor in Burlington, NC. Camcor would either repair it or replace it.

I took the boom box to UPS Monday, paid my $8.03, and today (Friday) we received a brand new replacement CD-boom box. I was so pleased, I called Califone, got a real person who connected me with Patrick, the senior person in Customer Service. I asked Patrick if I could share my positive experience with all of our elementary librarians. (I told him he might receive a flood of requests.) He told me that they want to hear from their customers, and they are here to meet our needs.

Just thought I'd pass along another good experience!”

Listening Centers
“When our listening centers were installed, we didn't have additional funding to buy stories and so we asked faculty to record some for us instead. The stories created a more nurturing environment because the children were listening to familar voices. One day, a student was concentrating at the listening center and had a sudden realization – his face lit up and he cried out "that's Mrs. Doyle!" (head of PreK-4). It was hysterical and a pure delight!”

PA300+
“When we visited South Side School in Johnson City, TN, a 4th grade teacher was using a wireless headset mic with a Belt Pack Transmitter and one wireless Presentation Pro in each corner of the room. She loved it! She did a pre- and post-test one month apart, using the headset and scores went up when she used the mic. This teacher felt that amplifying her voice led to greater student participation and learning. This is a power-house unit that's really suitable for a large crowd or several classrooms.”

“As a physical education consultant, I present to classroom and physical education teachers, administrators, and after-school recreation leaders around the country. The presentations are activity oriented and a public address system that amplifies my voice and music is extremely important. Not only does my PA300+UHF make my task as a presenter more effective and meaningful, but is saves my voice and my audience can better hear me and move with the music. The same could be said for a teacher who is attempting to explain teaching techniques, strategies, and concepts to students or use music as part of a teaching strategy.”

PA300+UHF
“The Wireless PresentationPro helps me do my job better because it projects to the rear of the room and keeps the attention of the students who sit in the back. I use the the system that everyday in my classroom.

I bought the PA300+UHF in part because I already have a Califone boombox that is good quality so I went with Califone again. I like that the system has selectable frequencies so it does not interfere with other teachers and the Infrared system doesn’t break up. I have already purchased 5 of these PA systems and recommended them to other teachers!”

PA300+UHF
“We use our PA300+UHF all over because it's portable, which is one of the features we like about it. We regularly use it about outside, in the fellowship hall and in the church occasionally. I like that it comes with the hands-free collar microphone. We purchased it because it was highly recommended to us. It helps us out a lot because you don't have to shout and you can talk normal since it projects voices nicely.”

PA300+UHF
“I'm the Technology Director for Rich Township High School District and it was my decision to purchase a Califone PA300+UHF. We need a truly portable unit that's easy for us to take to the different locations. I decided to purchase Califone brand over others because it was strongly recommended, plus we had the opportunity to use a loaner for 30 days and we were happy with the quality and performance of your product. The key features I love about PA300+UHF are the portability, wireless capability, and the quality of the sound. Our monthly meetings usually have 50-100 people in the room and in the past, people who sit in the back of the room could never hear clearly or get 100% of the message & announcements. But after we started using the PresentationPro, everyone in the room has been able to participate and involve in the meeting completely. PA300+UHF is a GREAT product!”

PA300UHF-PQ
“We use the PA300UHF-PQ system all over the school and it is wonderful! We should've bought it years ago! It helps us with all kinds of different activities as we've used it at open houses, at showcases in different schools, in the front lobby of the school for the orchestra and as a backup system for our existing microphone system. We also use it with our special needs [ECE] kids in our small gym. We wanted to purchase Califone because we've bought other Califone products in the past and have been very happy with all of them. I like this particular PA system because it is so portable and easy to setup since we use it about once a week. I can't say enough great things about it!”

PowerPro

PA-916A & PA916-PS
“We purchased the PowerPro system for immediate use at our fundraising auction.

We are located in a ranch/field type of setting and with 400+ people attending this function it was important for everyone to hear announcements, the Director's speech and our auction results.

It was so easy to operate! After spending only a few minutes on the owner’s manual, we understood how it functions and were ready to go! We used it at least six or seven times that day alone. It’s a very good product, is powerful and is very user friendly - even setting up the wireless companion speaker!

When I need to buy more public address systems or speakers, I will buy Califone brand. And I would certainly recommend this product to everyone.”

“We had great success using the PowerPro in the 2003 Granada Hills Annual Holiday Parade. The kids had fun using the wireless microphone to send holiday greetings to the crowd all around the parade route, the built-in CD player worked without a flaw, and the battery power could not have been more convenient. We look forward to using it at all our events!”

“We purchased a PowerPro and a PowerPro Companion system and use it at least monthly and whenever needed for our after-school programs. The PA system is used at assemblies, outside field days, talent shows, at our "town" meetings where kids are recognized for their good writing and also for "Student of the month" get-togethers. The PowerPro system is so helpful because it's cordless and we can charge it all the time. The fact that they're wireless comes in handy when we need mobility, which is especially needed with a student body of 500 kids.”

“The security aspects within No Child Left Behind are a factor for our rural school district. We rely on Califone safety equipment for announcements, safety drills, coordinating student movement, security and supervision without dependence on phone service. We use the Handheld Megaphone to get the attention of students - there's a measurable reassurance knowing you can be heard anywhere on the playground.”

“Curriculum, sports, activites needing voice amplication in noisy environments could be significantly improved with the VoiceSaver. Any administrator, teacher, coach or student who has had problems being clearly understood during presentations would appreciate the power of this device. It is an inexpensive solution for many presentation venues and problems and would be good for all districts to have such a unit.”

“I love the VoiceSaver because I don’t have to raise my voice to talk to my students. I use it everyday for 4-5 hours and simply recharge it each night. And because it clips to a belt, I can wear it everywhere — in the hallways, even on the playground. It gets the kids’ attention so much better than just my voice.”

“We regularly use the CardMaster and activities kit. They are excellent for teaching language skills to our Autistic students. The CardMaster is known in the field as a good tool to teach the skills. I’m sure we will get many more years of use from our Califone products.”

“I have a severely developmentally delayed 10-year-old son whose ability to speak and communicate is very limited. He has been working with your card reader for the past year and has made tremendous progress in many areas. it has opened up his world and we have even discovered through using the reader that he is able to sight-read simple words. The possibilities that this has given him are just too much to imagine. His thirst to learn is insatiable, and if it were up to him, he would do nothing but work with the card reader all day. Thank you very much!!”

“Many teachers struggle to find appropriate strategies and materials to help them differentiate instruction. Anchor activities provide students with short routine activities that require little or no support from the teacher. The CardReader and phonics programs fulfill this need. The teacher is now able to differentiate instruction and yet be assured their students are engaged with meaningful independent practice opportunities.”
